Westminster High School was been named one of 300 State Finalists nationwide in the 13th annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition, receiving a $2,500 prize package.The competition engages students in active, hands-on learning that can be applied to real-world problems – making STEM more tangible and showcasing its value beyond the classroom.
The team consists of WHS MERITS students Ashley Nguyen, River Ngo, and Matthew Lopez for being selected as a state finalist for the Samsung for Tomorrow competition (the 4th time for WHS). Their project entails cleaning up polluted water sources in low income communities worldwide using a specially engineered brick from waste shells from clams and oysters.
