ELAC

The English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC) advises the principal and other school staff on the school’s program for English learners.  The committee is made up of parents who have students designated as English Language Learners (ELL), parents of non English Learners and school staff.

The responsibilities of the committee are to advise the WHS administrative team on issues related to English learners, assist in the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement as it relates to English Learners, assist in efforts to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance, and much more.

Members of the ELAC are elected during Back-to-School Night, but anyone may attend the meetings.  The committee meets 3 to 5 times per year.  For more information about the ELAC contact Jesus Ortega.
